Allie Avital is a director, screenwriter, and playwright from New York City.

In June 2026 her debut play The Naked Woman had a sold-out two week run in the West Village, NYC. She is in pre-production on her debut feature of the same name, and in development on two other features.

She has worked with everyone from Lionel Messi to Dolly Parton, artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Moses Sumney, Caroline Polachek, and brands such as Google, YouTube, Pfizer, Vogue, Starbucks, and the City of New York. Her work has been Vimeo Staff Picked nine times, featured in the New York Times, NPR, Nowness, Buzzfeed, PromoNews, "best of" lists, nominated for the Ciclopes, Camerimage (Best Music Video and Best Cinematography), and the UKMVAs (‘18,‘17). She has screened at SXSW (Jury Recognition Award ‘19, ‘18), Sundance NEXT, BAM, IFC, BUG, Havana Film Festival, and more. Allie’s short film “The Naked Woman” won the Audience Award on Short of the Week and the feature was developed at the Venice Biennale Cinema College.

She directed 2nd unit on HOLLAND, an MGM/Amazon film starring Nicole Kidman. In 2025, Allie co-wrote the ballet thriller PRIMA, starring Faye Dunaway and Mira Sorvino.

When not writing or directing, Allie is a beginner Rockaway surfer, a karaoke delinquent, a decent cook, an avid reader, and perfecting her command of four languages.
